objective
Design a chair inspired by Gerrit Rietveld's 1963 Steltman Chair.
concept
The focus of this design was to create an aesthetically pleasing chair that could actually be used in the future. Three different stains (white, brown, and and black) were used to emphasize each unique elevation. White stain was used on the top elevation. Brown stain was used on the front and back elevations. Black stain was use on the left and right elevations. The original chair design was altered by extending the seat and arm height for more comfort. Dowels were also added spanning the back pieces and the left side pieces to create a more unifying connection and break up the harsh angles a little bit.
