objective
Create a table design that shows an interpretation of the word “iconoclast.”
concept
The definition of “iconoclast” is the social belief in the importance of destruction of icons and other images or monuments, most frequently for religious or political religions. One can be iconoclastic if they attack cherished beliefs or institutions. For the table’s design, I decided to, instead of taking the religious or political route, destroy the idea people have of a typical table. Disregarding the tradition of sitting side by side someone, being able to easily to talk to others, and having a wide enough table for people to sit across from another, the table is nine feet long and only fifteen inches wide. The legs are positioned in a staggered manner, to force where people can sit, therefore, four people can sit next to each other but with an uncomfortable closeness. The walnut and clean cuts add simplcity and elegance to the design.
