The design embodies the characters’ love for acting, jazz, and life in Los Angeles. A public area of the house exhibits Seb and Mia’s individual personalities and their contrasts to each other, such as the existence of both red and blue finishes and materials which are seen when the characters are apart. All important social rooms have views to the ocean and are attached to a patio or balcony. The private areas for only Seb, Mia, and their family reflect the joining of their characters with purple finishes and materials and complimenting colors. Their differences of lives and dreams are further shown with the material contrast of slate flooring and two tones of wood.
